The ocular surface is a critical issue in the management of glaucoma. When the health of the cornea and conjunctiva is optimal, the patient is best able to tolerate medications with improved compliance. This lecture discusses the potential problems that occur and strategies for management including dry eye, blepharitis, bleb preservation, floppy eyelid syndrome, giant fornix syndrome  and tube erosion. The status of the ocular surface determines medical and surgical outcomes.
