Early Detection and Management of Neovascular Glaucoma

Neovascular glaucoma is a devastatingly blinding disease of the eye.  The key to management is the early detection of neovascularization, prior to permanent synechial closure of the angle, leading to intractable glaucoma.  This video prevents the many varied etiologies of neovascualr glaucoma and the red flag signs to watch out in order to avoid potential pain and loss of vision by the patient.

Professor Peter Shah is a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon and Supra-Regional Glaucoma Specialist at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Trust. He is also a Visiting Professor to the NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (Moorfields Eye Hospital and UCL Institute of Ophthalmology). He is Honorary Professor of Glaucoma at the Centre for Health and Social Care Improvement at the University of Wolverhampton.
