Phacoemulsification is the most common surgical operation performed by Ophthalmologists. It involves a skill set borrowing from many aspects of surgery as well as components unique to phacoemulsification. The process of learning every step is complex, as experienced surgeons perform many intricate manoeuvres so rapidly the trainee does not have time to fully comprehend the thought processes behind each subtle movement. This series of videos dissects down to the minutiae, discussing tips and tricks as only gained from years of practice, sometimes acquired the hard way. We hope it will make for a smoother journey.
