Unexplained Vision Loss after Cataract Surgery in Glaucoma Patients

The expectations following phacoemulsification surgery are high.  It is disappointing and distressing for both the patient and the clinician when the visual outcome is less than optimal.  The glaucoma patient who has already compromised vision is at risk from the usual cataract surgical complications, however this lecture focuses on the more pertinent causes.  Idenitification of the etiology enables the instigation of appropriate management.
